Updated Team Foundation Server 2010 Beta 2 Install Guide – Now with Virtual Lab Management

A few weeks ago, I published v0.1 of our Team Foundation Server 2010 Beta 2 installation guide.  Since then, we’ve fixed a few bugs and added a walk-through for installing Team Foundation Server 2010 Virtual Lab Manager.

There are definitely more bugs to be found.  If you find bugs or run in to problems with your installation of TFS2010 or TFS Virtual Lab Management 2010, please tell us.

Click here to download the updated TFS2010 & Lab Management installation guide.

You assume that domain\WSSService exists already when you install the user in SQL Server. I assume this should be created, but does it need any special permissions?

Hi Dan,

I'm assuming that you mean pages 52 - 56. These pages will be removed from the final document and don't appear to be necessary with the current Beta 2 build. You can safely skip the steps on these pages.

Hey, on page 34 of the guide, during the SQL 2008 install, during the pre-requisites install, the .Net Framework 3.5 sp 1 install failed for me and I was redirected to use the Server Manager to add the appropriate role. Am I the only one? If not, it would be nice to configure this during the previous install of the IIS role. Just saying...

BTW, the role I added was under the Application Server node.
